Belgrade Theater - Atelier 212 theater is located on Svetogorska street at number 12, near the Youth Centre, and the Republic Square in Belgrade. Its work began on 12th of November, 1956, and the first ever played show at the Atelier 212 was Goethe's "Faust." Atelier 212 theater was founded by a group of artists with the idea to establish a theater in which they will display the avant-garde works of drama. The building "Borba" became home to the Theatre Atelier 212, and its 212 seats had a great role in creating the name now widely known across Europe.
Today the Belgrade Theatre Atelier 212 is one of the most famous for its world-class performances of diverse plays. All of the repertoire is being played on two stages, Mira Trailović and Petar Kralj. The Mira Trailović stage is named after the eponymous longtime manager of theater Atelje 212, which together with Jovan Ćirilov founded one of the greatest European theater festivals, BITEF.
After Mira Trailović the directors place was replaced by Ljubomir Draškić who, during his twelve years of managing the theater Atelje 212, extended the cast and got a new building. Atelier 212 with the new, reconstructed building became one of the best equipped theaters in the Balkans. Today the Large stage - Mira Trailović has 385 seats, and the stage Petar Kralj 141 seats.
Opening hours of Atelje 212 theater in Belgrade are from 10am to 1pm from Monday to Friday, then from 6pm until the beginning of the show on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. On Saturdays Atelier 212 theater does not work.
