Belgrade Markets - Cvetko's Market or Zvezdar Market is located in King Alexander Boulevard, a very busy location in Belgrade. The Zvezdara Market has a long history, and many are known as the "Cvetko's Market", although it was later renamed the Zvezdara Market. The market is named after entrepreneur and benefactor Cvetko Jovanovic, who opened a sawmill across the street from today's Law School building. The Cvetko's Market was located right next to the famous "Cvetko's tavern". Today's Zvezdara market, as we know it, was built before World War II and has recently been rebuilt and modernized.
Cvetko's Market was known for its counters and the sale of quality home-made cheese, brandy and wine from all over Serbia. Today, the largest sales of fruit from Grocka, Umcara, Bolec and Vinca are gathered at the Cvetko's market, and a large part comes from the Smederevo region. Cvetko's market is the first market in Belgrade where spotlights are installed, which make it easy to buy in the evening. According to Cvetko's Market, the entire star district is now known as Cvetko's Market.
