Belgrade Attractions - Heritage House represents an important institution in Belgrade's cultural life as a place that takes care of the storage of gifts and legacies from 1955 until today. The Heritage House was created as the wish of many artists and intellectuals for all gifts and legacies in Belgrade. Since 2004, the Heritage House has moved into one of the first modern Belgrade upstairs houses.
The town house was built in 1869 at the request of Belgrade merchant Veljko Savic, and together with the neighboring buildings is a unique compound block of buildings characteristic of Belgrade architecture in the mid-nineteenth century, which is preserved to this day. The son of the merchant, Lazar Savic, bequeathed the family home to the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts for development of Serbian Science and Culture. The three houses are among the first erected buildings in Emilijan Josimovic's new plan for Knez Mihailova Street since 1867.
