Belgrade Attractions - The Foundation of Desanka Maksimovic from the list Belgrade Attractions is located on Skreliceva street in Vracar. The National Library of Serbia is the founder of the Endowment of Desanka Maksimovic from the list Belgrade Attractions at the discretion of the Board of Directors, the Foundations tasks is creating conditions to preserve and cultivate lasting memories of this great Serbian writer. The Foundation od Desanka Maksimovic annually presents the award for creative poetic work on the day she was born on 16 May. The award consists of prize money, a muniment and a statuette of Desanka Maksimovic, it is awarded to poets for the entire contribution to the Serbian poetry and can be granted only once. The Foundation of Desanka Maksimovic later published a collection of poems with a foreword and selected bibliography, by this award-winning poet.
Legal heirs of Desanka Maksimovic lent her endowment in 2012. to the Foundation, which has the status of the Legacy of Desanka Maksimovic. The legacy is of great importance and significance, it contains notes, concepts, autographs of poems, the first and final versions of the papers, invitations to cultural ceremonies and receptions, letters of the poet whose verses Desanka translated, letters, postcards, telegrams from government officials and awards she received. Her successors became co-founders of the Foundation, thanks to gifting the entirety of the legacy.
